Leicester City v Arsenal
The Foxes are still unbeaten but continue to ship goals and I reckon Arsenal can shade a lively encounter here. Both teams to score looks an absolute penalty kick but the Camel Coats have chalked it up at heavy odds on so I reckon the shrewd dough should go down on a Gunners win with both protagonists finding the net.

Liverpool v Aston VillaAnyone tempted to back the Reds at 8/15 here wants hitting squarely on the forehead with a claw hammer. They have served up what can only be described as fecal matter in recent weeks and being taken to penalties at home to lowly Carlisle has sent some fans over the edge. Make no bones, the knives are out for Brendan Rodgers, who is as short as 7/4 to be the next top-flight boss to lose his job.

Well, Anthony Martial is proving the sceptics wrong and if the speedy Frenchman scores on Saturday he will create a bit of history by becoming the first United player to score in his first three Premier League matches. Stoke City v BournemouthStoke have huffed and puffed so far this season but are still without a win and that has to be a worry for Mark Hughes with October just around the corner. I think they look plenty short to win this one, especially if Callum Wilson is on it once again. West Ham v Norwich CityFrom the evidence I’ve seen so far West Ham look bankers for a top-10 finish this season. They look to have so much firepower and a great balance in these post-Big Sam times. I think they can cut a swathe through Norwich without much fuss here and am all over the 5/4 quotes currently doing the rounds about a home win.

Newcastle v ChelseaThe whole world and his dog will have this down as an away banker but it’s worth remembering Chelsea’s recent record on Tyneside really isn’t worth a w*nk. Mr Mourinho hasn’t won at St James’ Park in five previous visits and last season two Papiss Cisse goals ended Chelsea’s fine unbeaten start to the season. The Mags have been appalling so far but will hopefully close ranks and have a real go at the Blues again and for this reason I reckon the draw here might be worth a nibble.

Watford v Crystal PalaceThe Premier League are not exactly ending the weekend with a bang here are they? In fact I’ve not felt this underwhelmed since watching Grease 2. Odion Ighalo produced the goods for this column last weekend and I’m happy to go with the nippy Nigerian again. In fact, I’ll raise the stakes a bit. If Ighalo scores first on Sunday I’ll happily get his face tattooed onto my left a*se cheek.

Umbro increase their grip on the Premier League by announcing a five-year technical partnership with West Ham United, starting from the 2015/16 season, a landmark year for the East London club.

Spelling out the name of the brand using five locations around the Boleyn Ground, The Hammers join the likes of Everton, PSV Eindhoven, Grêmio, FC Tokyo and Vasco da Gama, to become the latest club, rich in history, to sport the Double Diamond. Ligue 1 round-up: PSG go top but Monaco's title hopes suffer

Javier Pastore scored twice as Paris St Germain beat Nice 3-1 to return to the top of Ligue 1.

The two-time reigning champions moved a point ahead of Lyon with victory over Claude Puel's side.

Pastore's opener was cancelled out in first-half injury time by Mathieu Bodmer but the Argentinian scored again just after the hour and Edinson Cavani's penalty rounded off the result.

Monaco's title hopes suffered a major blow on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rennes.

Bernardo Silva had the hosts ahead in the first half but Habib Habibou netted the equaliser with just three minutes remaining.

The result leaves Monaco six points behind leaders Paris St Germain with just five games to play while the club from the capital also have a game in hand.

Lens' stay in the top-flight looks even more precarious after they were beaten 3-1 by relegation rivals Metz.

The division's bottom side were desperate to pick up their seventh league victory this season, but goals from Florent Malouda, Bouna Sarr and Modibo Maiga saw Metz to victory. Aristote Madiani netted a late consolation.

Despite the win, Metz remain in trouble, one off the bottom of the table and eight points from safety with six games left.

Redemption is the buzzword for Manchester United. Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Chris Smalling, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, close to half a team of players in from the cold to varying degrees. All boast markedly improved reputations.

Louis van Gaal has also responded, following significant doubts regarding his ability to reverse the club's fortunes. Being the man who followed the man who followed Alex Ferguson was supposed to be football's easiest gig, but there were times in November and December when it felt far from straightforward.

This victory marked United's restoration in red pen. In each of their previous two games against the Premier League's more successful sides (Liverpool and Tottenham), United finally played with an intensity lacking in the past 20 months. Against City, they demonstrated more still.

This too was a bigger test than Liverpool or Spurs. No team has ever beaten United five times consecutively in the Premier League era, but City's stranglehold on the Manchester derby had become rule rather than exception. That was blown away by a surging, rampant home performance.
